As an Ofsted registered childminder in Crewe, I offer a warm nurturing environment that encourages independence and self growth. I aim to provide a good foundation for your child's future by providing a wide range of activities that are based around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). I believe in promoting a healthy lifestyle which includes home cooked locally sourced food, some of which we grow on our own organic allotment. Children are encouraged to grow their own vegetables and they take great pride in having them for tea. Being a passionate cook, I encourage the children to help prepare their meals eg basic cutting, spreading, weighing and measuring.
Our home is not a nursery so it is a warm friendly homely place. Our lounge is a comfortable, quiet room where we can relax or do music and movement based activities.
Our dining room has shelves which hold baskets full of toys, a large table to do crafts etc, and a lovely play kitchen area. Most toys are fully accessible. Even the smallest child can access their age appropriate toys at any time. The computer is also in this room.
The spare bedroom holds a travel cot for nice quiet sleeps.
Outside we have a patio for bikes and trikes and a lawn for rough play. We have a sandpit, provision for wet play and a playhouse. Fenced off from the play area is a small greenhouse in which we grow out own tomatoes and cucumbers. Children, with strict supervision, enjoy picking their own vegetables and eating them straight away.
We also welcome children over the age of 5. These "schoolies" enjoy arts, crafts, visits to the park, supervised access to the computer and limited time on the Wii. We are open from 7.30am to 6pm and I pick up children from Hungerford Road School and Little People Nursery. The bus stops for both Sandbach senior schools, South Cheshire College, St Thomas More and Malbank Schools are at the end of our street.
I take children from the ages 0 to 18.
